Menu : 'Fried' Egg

What came first, the Toaster or the Egg? I think the answer's rather obvious, unlike this corker of a recipe.

This recipe sees the ToasterChef pushing his/her resourcefulness to new, unknown limits. Sort of like an agoraphobic, kitchen-dwelling Ray Mears, he/she must fully utilize all available equipment - bar a frying pan - to produce the edible wonder that is the fried egg.

  1. Prepare your pan - you didn't think you'd just crack the egg into the Toaster, wait 60 seconds and that's it, did you?
    1. Get foil
    2. Remove some foil and fold it into a square that will fit into the toasty-cavern.
    3. Bend up the sides to foil any escape plans the egg has
    4. End result should gleam and sparkle in much the same way that this fine example does:
foil: not just for making small disco balls and protective helmits

  2. Crack the egg into the pan
de-shelled and naked to the world, the egg awaits its' fate

  3. Tip the Toaster on its side and place the pan+egg combo into the slot.
  4. Engage the Toaster!
    sunny side up.

  5. Watch in delight as the runny, undeveloped chicken-fetus morphs into a beautiful fried egg. Monitor thoroughly and remove when the yolk's to your desired consistency!
Q: How do you like your eggs? Fried? Scrambled? Poached? A: TOASTED!

  6. Enjoy with bread soldiers!
eggcellent! it tastes great, no yolk!

Side Note: Combine this dish with Toast for a fried-egg butty!
